kroul farms Mini Farmers Market debuts in 2025

We’re inviting local makers, bakers, and food trucks to apply for a vendor spot in our very first mini farmers market series, held over the last 2 weekends in September and all 4 in October. Our goal is to support more of these local friends and neighbors while also enhancing our customer’s experience visiting the farm. Learn more below and then complete our application to get started!
The deadline to apply as a fall vendor is Wednesday, September 17. However, we may begin scheduling vendors (especially those interested in the first few weekends) before the deadline is up, and will likely leave the form open longer to fill later weekends. However, an initial schedule will be available after the 17th. A link to the sign up form can be found at the bottom of this section.
If you are looking for information about being featured inside our farm store, please email: nicole@kroulfarms.com

Cost & Commitment
Vendor time-slots will last for 2 hours and cost $10/hour (rain or shine). Vendors may sign up for repeating time slots if they would like. This fee is your commitment to show up, as we will promote your presence prior to the weekend, and designed to keep as much of your profits in your pocket as possible. We know that all vendors carry an investment in their product, necessary licensing, and their time, so we hope this is a mutually beneficial experience!
Each approved vendor will be assigned to a small (roughly 10’x10’) high traffic area within our main grounds to set up their booth, with the exception of Mobile Food Units (we’ll work with you separately to find the best spot). This may include a table, small tent, and any reasonably sized display items that fit within this footprint, but all must be provided by the vendor.
Compliance & application
To help us stay compliant with Linn County & Iowa state guidelines, you’ll need to identify yourself by vendor type within your application and remain compliant to the requirements already laid out for you. Additionally, vendors are accountable for all financial transactions (including applicable taxes) and customer relations associated with the sale of their goods.
Kroul Farms will review each vendor application to ensure a quality product/experience for our customers and avoid too many similar vendors scheduled at the same time, but will not provide any guarantees for selection. We reserve the right to deny any vendor a booth at our discretion.
Kroul Farms welcomes the following vendor types (must select one when applying):
-
Entertainers: Those charging customers for a service or experience such as face-painters or balloon artists.
-
Crafters, Makers, and Artisans: Offer your homemade creations directly to our farm visitors. Reselling items as a 3rd party is not allowed.
-
Cottage Bakers: Cottage foods can be sold directly to consumers without licensing or inspection, as long as they meet certain requirements, but NOT food that requires additional farmers market licensing (those listed at the very bottom of this flyer).
Learn more about Iowa’s Cottage Food Laws -
Food License Holders: Individuals selling properly labeled and packaged goods, who meet additional food processing guidelines. These businesses can sell foods that cottage bakers cannot.
Learn more about Home Food Processing Establishments -
Mobile Food Units: Fully enclosed food and beverage trucks and trailers serving precooked items needing minimal assembly, and licensed in their home county.

Giving Back
Almost daily in the fall we receive requests from non-profit groups, churches, schools, and private philanthropic events, asking about donations of pumpkins and other fall items. Rather than say “yes” to some and “no” to others, we offer special pricing to every non-profit group that asks. Please email us at orders@kroulfarms.com 1-2 weeks prior to make these requests.
Fall Farm Tours
Visit us in the fall for a living, breathing, lesson plan on where your food comes from. We invite groups of all sizes to visit the farm to enjoy the fresh air, farm animals, and agriculture experience. Our time slots for school and group tours fill up fast so check back in August (and be sure to follow us on social media) to grab a spot. There is a small fee to cover the cost of a guided tour by a member of our staff.
There is no charge for a self-guided group tour, and we can provide a handout to help you explore the farm, but we do like to know that you are coming by filling out our form. Thank you for your interest in visiting Kroul Farms this fall!
